Bianca Argimón - Spanish-French (b. 1988)

Born in 1988 to a Spanish father and a French mother, both of whom worked for the European Commission in Brussels, Bianca Argimón is a quintessentially 21st century artist who conveys her artistic messages by various means, such as drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, ceramics, tapestry, photography, and more recently film. Growing up in a Franco-Spanish diplomatic family, the Millennial artist is not so much a third culture kid as a culturally sensitive and versatile European with a clear sense of global orientation, as well as a keen eye to observe the most pressing socio-political issues of our time. Her artistic outlook and approach are perhaps best attested by her residencies at prestigious institutions Casa de Velázquez and Fondation Hermès in recent years.

Aspiring to become an artist at the tender age of 12, Bianca Argimón would go on to study design and fine art on both sides of the Pond, specifically in London, Paris, and Rhode Island. A perceptive observer by nature, she is intrigued by myths, legends, and fables. Bianca Argimón’s airy, radiant, and spontaneous artworks make frequent use of allegories, analogies, and metaphors. They are often described as effusing a certain childlike, dreamlike quality infused with humour, all the while without the slightest hint of spite or malice.

Bianca Argimón now resides and works in Paris, and her works have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Western Europe, East Asia, and the U.S.
