The Museum of Women’s Art presents ROUGE, a solo exhibition by Marie de Villepin bringing together paintings created between 2019 and 2025. In China, where red belongs to collective history and celebration alike, the colour carries a particular resonance. Yet the artist refuses to treat it as a fixed emblem. Across the exhibition, red swirls, dissolves beneath white, fades into pink, collides with blue, and resurfaces in fragments. It becomes fire, fruit, cell, flock, sky, or lingering light. More than a colour, it is a force in motion.
